CCSDGives: Cherokee High School’s Warrior Wishes Giving Tree
Cherokee High School students in the Warrior Collective student organization are collecting donations for the Warrior Wishes Giving Tree service project.
Today’s #CCSDGives project is from Cherokee High School! CCSD students learn the value of service year-round through charitable projects and volunteering. During the holiday season, our schools stay especially busy with these projects. To increase our students’ positive impact in the community, we will regularly share details of these projects with you through CCSDGives posts including how you can help.
WHAT: Cherokee High School’s Warrior Wishes Giving Tree
WHO: Schoolwide, with leadership by the Warrior Collective student organization
WHY: More than 90 children in need will receive clothing, toys and gifts through the project. Students are collecting donations of specific items as well as financial donations to fulfill the needs and wants on each child’s list. Recipients’ names are kept confidential. Once the items are collected, students will wrap the gifts for delivery to the students’ families. “The needs are great this year, but so is our Warrior Nation!” said teacher Jennifer Rasmussen, who serves as advisor for the Warrior Collective.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? Donations of specific items on children’s wish lists are needed, as well as financial donations to purchase wish list items. Financial donations can be dropped off during school hours at the front office. For information on items you can donate, please email teacher Jennifer.Rasmussen@cherokeek12.net
