CCSD Students Win at 2025 State Career Skills Competition

Cherokee County School District students earned top honors at a statewide career skills competition!

The Cherokee High School welding program team earned two third-place honors at the recent SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership and Skills Conference.  High school students in various Career Pathway programs have the opportunity to join SkillsUSA co-curricular teams and participate in statewide learning and leadership events and competitions.

Axel Atkins earned third place in Individual Welding - Bronze, and the team of Taylor Moreno, Noland Painter and Landen Waters earned third place in Metal Working Display - Bronze.  Their advisor is teacher Darryl Jones.

Congratulations to our student winners and Mr. Jones and thank you to our School Board for its continued investment in our skilled professions career education program and opportunities for competition!
