CCSD Students Succeed at County, State Competitions

Cherokee County School District students earned honors at recent statewide and countywide competitions including a first-place win at the Georgia State Fair!

The students, who participate in the 4-H extra-curricular program sponsored locally by the UGA Cooperative Extension Office, competed at the Georgia State Fair and the Cherokee County Fair.  Thank you to 4-H for its valued partnership and thank you to our School Board for supporting community partnerships to further extend our students’ learning, growing, and achieving!

Abby Byess, Grade 7, Creekland MS: First place, 7th Grade, Showmanship; Fourth Place Overall and $400 prize, Market Lamb Show

Cherokee County Fair Winners:
Emma Booker, Grade 7, Creekland MS: Youth Craft and Photography, three first-prize wins
Daisy Fuder, Grade 1, Indian Knoll ES: Youth Canning and Crafts, seven first-prize wins
Graham Fuder, Grade 4, Indian Knoll ES: Youth Canning and Crafts, three first-prize wins, three second-prize wins, two third-prize wins
Lola Ray, Grade 10, Cherokee HS: Youth Sewing and Educational Student Booth, two first-prize wins, one booth win
Bree Scott, Grade 4, Holly Springs ES STEM Academy: Youth Cooking and Crafts, 12 first-prize wins, five second-prize wins
