CCSD Senior Earns 2025 Judy Johnson Memorial Scholarship
A Cherokee County School District Class of 2025 graduating senior is this year’s winner of the Judy Johnson Memorial Scholarship presented by the Cherokee County School District’s School Nutrition Association!
Cherokee High School senior Kaitlyn Lawrence is the recipient of the 2025 scholarship, which honors the service of a dedicated CCSD School Nutrition employee, Judy Johnson. Congratulations to Kaitlyn, thank you to the CCSD School Nutrition Association for your valued partnership, and thank you to our School Board for its continued support of our School Nutrition program!
The scholarship provides at least one $500 award annually to a CCSD graduating senior or recent graduate now attending college. Applications are solicited by the association, and then reviewed and scored by its scholarship committee made up of employees and community members.
Kaitlyn will attend Lee University, where she plans to study biochemistry with a minor in criminal justice. A scholar athlete, Kaitlyn lettered as a four-year member of the lacrosse team and two-year member of the flag football team and earned an academic letter, Lamp of Knowledge, and Superintendent’s Key Scholar award. She also performed for two years in the Band of Warriors’ drum line and is a member of National Honor Society, Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), and her church’s youth group. Kaitlyn additionally works part-time as a pet-sitter and at a local special events venue.
