1. Membership Requirements (The Mentees) Open to any student currently enrolled in at least one AP course. Attendance: Must attend a minimum of 75% of regular club meetings or scheduled study/mentorship sessions per semester. Engagement: Commit to filling out a brief quarterly progress check-in (e.g., sharing what AP classes they are taking, what they are struggling with, and setting a minor academic goal). 2. Mentor & Officer Requirements (The Guides) The goal here is to ensure that the students providing academic aid are qualified, reliable, and empathetic. Academic Experience: Must have successfully completed at least one AP course with a grade of B or higher and/or scored a 3 or higher on the AP Exam. Minimum GPA: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to ensure they have mastered general time-management and study skills. Character Reference: A brief recommendation or sign-off from at least one AP teacher certifying that the student is reliable, patient, and fit to tutor peers. Service Commitment: Must commit to a minimum of 1–2 hours per week of dedicated peer tutoring, leading study groups, or creating resource guides. 3. General Club Requirements (For All Members) These are the baseline expectations to keep the club chartered and running smoothly under school rules. The Growth Mindset Pledge: All members must sign a "Club Constitution" to maintain a supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment. (No "academic gatekeeping" or shaming allowed). Active Participation: Everyone must participate in the club’s major yearly events, such as the "AP Course Fair" (spring recruitment) or "AP Exam Bootcamps" (spring review). Dues : Minimal annual dues $10.00 |
